Pregnancy & Babies

At our clinic, we offer specialised, gentle care for babies and expectant mothers, using safe, evidence-informed therapies to support comfort, recovery, and wellbeing.

Babies benefit from expert hands-on treatment to aid musculoskeletal alignment, support healthy development, and relieve common issues such as tension, feeding discomfort, or postural imbalances.

For pregnancy patients, the body undergoes significant musculoskeletal, hormonal, and circulatory changes, which can lead to back, pelvic, and joint discomfort, as well as fatigue and fluid retention

Pregnancy places unique demands on the body, and as your baby grows, changes in posture, joint mobility, and muscle function can often lead to discomfort. At our clinic, our osteopaths and physiotherapists provide safe, gentle, and tailored treatment to help manage pain, improve mobility, and support your wellbeing throughout pregnancy. Whether you're in the early stages of pregnancy or preparing for birth, we aim to help you stay as comfortable, active, and confident as possible.

Common pregnancy-related complaints we treat include:

  • Pelvic girdle pain (PGP)

  • Symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD)

  • Pregnancy-related low back pain

  • Pregnancy-induced sciatica

  • Mid-back and rib pain

  • Neck and shoulder tension

  • Hip pain

  • Postural discomfort

  • Headaches and tension headaches

  • General aches and pains associated with pregnancy

PREGNANCY

The early months of life involve rapid growth and adaptation, and some babies may experience discomfort, tension, or feeding and digestive challenges during this time. Our practitioners use gentle, hands-on techniques tailored specifically for infants, working to support comfort, movement, and overall wellbeing. Treatment is always adapted to your baby's needs, and we take the time to listen to your concerns and provide reassurance throughout the process.

Common infant concerns we see include:

  • Colic and excessive crying

  • Reflux and digestive discomfort

  • Wind, gas, and bloating

  • Feeding difficulties

  • Tongue-tie related tension (alongside appropriate medical support)

  • Preference for turning the head to one side

  • Flat head syndrome (positional plagiocephaly)

  • Difficulty settling or sleeping

  • General tension following birth

  • Discomfort after a long, assisted, or complicated delivery

  • Developmental and movement concerns

If you are concerned about your baby's health, we always recommend seeking advice from your GP, health visitor, or paediatric healthcare professional where appropriate.

Babies

We provide expert, gentle care for babies and expectant mothers using osteopathy, physiotherapy, acupuncture, and modern cupping, all tailored to their unique needs. Osteopathy and Physiotherapy gently relieve tension, support alignment, and improve posture and comfort.

Acupuncture reduces pain, eases muscular tension, and promotes relaxation, helping with common pregnancy discomforts such as back or pelvic tightness. Our modern cupping, with controlled heat, red light, and electromagnetic oscillation, enhances circulation, relieves muscle tension, and supports tissue recovery.

Red light therapy supports tissue repair, reduces inflammation, and promotes relaxation; encourages optimal cellular function, reduces discomfort, and enhances circulation; and compression therapy can help manage swelling, improve lymphatic drainage, and ease fatigue in the legs.

Each therapy is applied with the utmost care, creating a safe, nurturing environment to support both mother and baby, and help the body recover, adapt, and thrive during this critical stage.
